O God, deliver me from the sin that I so desire to detest more. It subtly ensnares me without my knowledge. I wander toward sin mechanically without thinking. I know not till after how I have offended my brothers and sisters and you, O dearest Father. Give me wisdom, O Lord, to know myself and my sin and in doing so, come to know you better as well. Help me to detest my sin, to despise it utterly, and to banish it from my heart as the only thing that can keep me from you, O Father.
