Last night trying to paint was tortuous. It took great willpower to force myself to do it. O God, how dependent I am on your grace! Today I read in morning prayer the passage of John when Jesus asks three times of Peter, “Do you love me?” At the end he tells Peter that when he was young he dressed himself and went where he wanted, but when he will be old someone else will dress him and take him where he does not want to go, this indicating his death. After this, he tells him, “Follow me.” O God, give me the strength to follow you to death.
