“‘Why are you afraid?’ The words of Jesus right before he calmed the sea in Matthew. My Jesus, my Jesus, I stream tears of sadness, but they are also tears of joy because O God, my Lord, my Light, you work all things for the good of our souls. I trust in you. Your word, O Lord, is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
– Prayer Journal, July 27, 2020
This was Isaac’s final journal entry, which he wrote just five days before he was killed. His prayer illustrates the theme at the heart of the Transfiguration story—the feast on which he was buried ten days later. His prayer also pulls together the theme of the Transfiguration message at Mount Calvary last Sunday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxLHQ71_GpU&t=53s
